The original model of the Rolex Submariner possessed a corrosion resistant stainless-steel bracelet, a waterproof Oyster case, and a diving depth of 100 metres.

The modern variation of the Oyster waterproof casing can now withstand depths of up to 300 metres to meet new diving demands.
